Terms of Service

1. What SEYFI is — and is not

SEYFI is a personal safety check-in service: you start a temporary Safety Session, and if you miss a check-in or press the emergency button, SEYFI releases the information you chose in advance to the trusted contacts you chose in advance.

SEYFI is NOT an emergency service. It does not contact police, medical or rescue services, and it must never be your only safety measure. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number (112 in the EU).

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information. You sign in with your Apple account and are responsible for keeping your device and account secure. One account per person.

3. Your responsibilities

4. How delivery works — honest limits

Alerts are delivered by SMS and email through third-party networks. We record delivery acceptance and use provider failover, but no carrier, network, or inbox can be guaranteed. Delivery can fail or be delayed for reasons outside our control (network outages, carrier filtering, spam folders, a switched-off recipient phone). Timers and releases run on our servers so a dead phone cannot silently cancel an alert — but a session you never started cannot protect you.

5. Subscriptions (SEYFI+)

New accounts receive a 3-day SEYFI+ trial. Afterwards, SEYFI+ is available as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly €4.99 or yearly €49.99) billed through your Apple account and governed additionally by Apple’s terms. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel in your App Store subscription settings. The free plan always includes the core safety loop: sessions, check-ins, emergency button, and release by email — billing never blocks a safety action already in flight.

6. Privacy

The Privacy Policy is part of these terms. Its core promise: while you are safe, your location stays encrypted and is not shared with anyone; it is released to the contacts you chose only if you miss a check-in.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but provide the service “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where feasible.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and for slight negligence only where an essential contractual duty is breached — in which case it is capped at the foreseeable, typical damage. Nothing in these terms limits liability for injury to life, body or health, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. You acknowledge point 1: SEYFI is an additional safety net, not a guarantee of rescue.

9. Termination

You can stop using SEYFI and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially section 3.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
